Give examples of magnets in every day use.
Things made from wood, paper, glass, rubber, cork etc. are not attracted to magnets.
Most metals are not attracted to magnets but iron, steel (which is mostly iron), nickel and cobalt are.
Materials which are attracted to magnets are called magnetic materials.
A magnet can attract metal through other materials like wood, card, paper, plastic, water and metals.
