Group 13 exemplar Energy & Forces  - Electricity (Word)

  1. Shaver socket for bathroomsNowadays with rechargeable batteries and so many things using mains or battery there is not a clear distinction between the two and any sorting activity must include a third column for those which can use both e.g. mobile phone.

An alternative activity could be to give the children pictures of rooms from magazines and ask them to circle items which use electricity or batteries.

Note - bathrooms do not normally have sockets for mains electricity except for shaver points because of the dangers of using electrical items in wet environments.
