| 1 | Pupils should already know that some things will "disappear" in water. Elicit examples from pupils e.g. salt, sugar. Provide the term "dissolve". |
| 2 | Pupils should carry out an investigation to find out about dissolving things in water. Which things will dissolve which will not? Draw up a table of results, draw conclusions and make a short report. |
