EF-E2.3 Explain the difference between renewable and non-renewable energy resources
Some renewable energy sources are solar energy, hydropower and wind power.
Non-renewable energy sources are limited.
Reducing use of non-renewable sources will allow them to last longer.

 

1 Use databases and text to collect information about renewable and non-renewable energy sources, to identify examples and to highlight the differences.
2 Debate the advantages and disadvantages of setting up a wind farm in the vicinity of the school.
3 Visit a wind farm or hydroelectric scheme.
4 Discuss how pupils can contribute to the conservation of fuel supplies.
