EF-E2.1

EF-E2.1 Describe some examples of the interconversion of potential and kinetic energy
A ‘wind-up’ toy has potential energy when wound.
Potential energy can be considered as energy ‘held back’ (tension).
A moving body has kinetic (moving) energy.
Examples of potentials energy: water in a dam, stretched elastic, wound up toy.

1 Establish the various fuels used in our homes.
2 Examine some samples of fossil fuels and find out how fossil fuels are formed.
3 Investigate the energy resource in foods.
