Relate the movement of planets around the Sun to gravitational forces
Gravity is the pull exerted by any object.
It is the Sun that has the greatest gravitational effect on the planets in the Solar System.

1 Use the library to find out about ‘weightlessness’ experienced by astronauts in space.
2 Discuss which objects in the Solar System will have the greatest gravitational pull.
3 Draw a diagram to explain the effect of the Sun on the movement of the planets.
4 Find out how we determined that the earth moves around the Sun.
