LT-B2.1 Give examples of how the senses are used to detect information

 

1 Discuss how we use senses to detect information : sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell.
2 Relate light and sight to detecting information about surroundings.
Play ball at PE with one eye and then two eyes open to lead to the idea of judging distance.
3 Recognise objects or each other by touch. Investigate touch using different grades of sandpaper.
4 Relate sound and hearing to detecting information about surroundings. Identify the direction of sounds when blindfolded.
5 Investigate taste and smell using plain and flavoured potato crisps.
